Opposing Sides
A genre-fluid testament to Suzanne's expansive musicality and expressiveness.
Conceived as a mixtape-like soundtrack to insurmountable insomnia, Opposing Sides is a cohesive mashup of sonic and emotional contrasts: fuzzed out post-punk/post-rock, ethereal, layered vocals, math-y/post-modern odd/mixed meters. It's the playlist from the never-made David Lynch film, as composed by the lovelorn lovechild of Mars Volta, Pixies, Kate Bush, Philip Glass, Low, Tori Amos, and others.
Rumours Redux
Suzanne Stern's Rumours Redux (2025) is a gritty, dream-like re-imagining of songs from Fleetwood Mac's seminal album, Rumours.
The first release from the veteran musician in over a decade, the five-track EP pays homage to one of Stern's personal touchstones through unexpected arrangements that encompass post-rock, dream-pop, and '60s psychedelia, while maintaining the spirit of the original songs.
A true solo album, Rumours Redux showcases Suzanne's proficiency on multiple instruments, her expressive performances and ethereal harmonies, and her mastery of polyrhythms and fluid meter shifts.
